Closing Cybersecurity Gaps: Essential Strategies for 2025

June 27, 2025 | Event

Cybersecurity is no longer a novel or isolated concern—it is now a critical priority for every business and organization, regardless of size or industry. As cyber threats continue to grow in sophistication and frequency, it is essential for organizations to remain informed, prepared, and resilient.

In response to this growing need, IT Group Inc. (ITG) hosted a timely and thought-provoking webinar titled “What You Don’t See Can Breach You” last June 19, 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness, share insights, and encourage businesses to take proactive steps in fortifying their cybersecurity posture.

The webinar was conducted in collaboration with CYREBRO, the world’s first cloud-based Security Operations Center (SOC) platform. Together, ITG and CYREBRO gathered professionals from the IT and cybersecurity sectors across various industries to engage in a meaningful discussion on current cybersecurity challenges, strategies, and best practices.

The event commenced with a warm and heartfelt welcome from Laguna Technopark’s very own General Manager, Ms. Ana Molano, who set an enthusiastic tone for the day. She was joined by ITG’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ms. Mimi, who extended her appreciation to all attendees and emphasized the significance of collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of technology.

Cybersecurity is No Longer an Option—It’s a Necessity

The session opened with a powerful presentation from Matthew Album, Chief Revenue Officer at CYREBRO. With over three decades of experience in cybersecurity, Matthew provided an in-depth analysis of the evolving threat landscape in 2025.

He emphasized that cybersecurity is no longer a matter of if a business will be targeted, but how and when. He highlighted how cyber threats have become more sophisticated and how attackers are now exploiting both technological vulnerabilities and human factors. Notably, Matthew shed light on the growing threat of internal risks, such as employee errors, lack of training, staffing shortages, and skills gaps—all of which leave organizations increasingly vulnerable.

Matthew urged organizations to move beyond reactive approaches and instead adopt proactive, holistic security strategies that account for both internal and external threats. His insights served as a reminder that cybersecurity must be embedded into the core of every business operation.

Addressing Cybersecurity Gaps: A Deeper Dive

Following Matthew’s presentation, Allan Ayeras, ITG’s Practice Head for Cybersecurity, took a deeper dive into the critical topic of cybersecurity gaps—exploring how these blind spots serve as gateways for cyberattacks.

Allan emphasized a growing issue plaguing cybersecurity teams: alert fatigue. In today’s digital environment, security tools generate vast amounts of data and alerts. However, without the right tools, processes, and expertise in place, teams can quickly become overwhelmed. Allan illustrated how this constant influx of alerts often leads to missed incidents, slow response times, increased risk, and ultimately, burnout among security professionals.

He stressed that the shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals is one of the most pressing issues in the industry today. This talent gap directly contributes to delayed detection and response, making organizations more susceptible to breaches.

To effectively address these challenges, Allan encouraged organizations to enhance their visibility into their attack surface—which includes all digital assets, endpoints, and potential entry points for attackers. This requires implementing centralized monitoring tools, automated threat detection, and comprehensive asset management solutions that provide real-time insights into vulnerabilities and potential threats.

“Cybersecurity is not just about having the right tools—it’s about having the right people, processes, and visibility in place to stay ahead of threats,” Allan concluded.

Real-Life Use Cases of a Managed SOC: A Practical Approach to Cyber Defense

In the final session of the webinar, Matthew Album rejoined the conversation to introduce attendees to CYREBRO, a powerful cloud-native SOC platform designed for managed services. He highlighted how CYREBRO enables businesses—regardless of size or cybersecurity maturity—to elevate their security operations through centralized visibility, expert investigation, and real-time response.

Matthew walked the audience through real-world use cases that demonstrated how CYREBRO helps organizations detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats more efficiently.Through these use cases, Matthew emphasized the value of a Managed SOC for organizations that may lack in-house resources or expertise to operate a full-scale security operations center. CYREBRO acts as a force multiplier, providing a combination of automated threat intelligence, centralized visibility, expert analysis, and actionable guidance—all in a single platform.

Cybersecurity is Here. Are You Ready?

The webinar reinforced a critical message for all attendees: cybersecurity is a continuous journey. As threats evolve, so too must the strategies to defend against them. Both Matthew and Allan emphasized the importance of collaboration, education, and innovation in building stronger defenses.

For organizations looking to bridge their cybersecurity gaps and build a more resilient security framework, ITG, in partnership with CYREBRO, is ready to support with solutions that offer real-time visibility, expert monitoring, and actionable insights.
